Scope and who operates the service
This policy applies to hobbydomain.com and the HobbyDomain service. In this policy, “HobbyDomain,” “we,” and “us” mean the operator of this service. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to members@hobbydomain.com.
1. Information we collect
Account and security information
When you create an account, we receive your display name, email address, and password. The authentication system stores a password hash rather than your readable password. It also maintains verification, password-reset, session, rate-limit, and security records. Those records may include tokens, timestamps, IP address, and browser user-agent information.
Profile and contribution information
You may provide a handle, display name, biography, location, website, favorite hobby domains, project titles and summaries, club names and descriptions, and YouTube guide links, titles, or notes. Future contribution tools may collect the content you deliberately submit through them.
Network information
When a browser requests the site, our hosting and security provider processes ordinary request information such as IP address, routing data, headers, requested URLs, timestamps, and diagnostic or security signals.
2. Public and private information
Your account email, password hash, authentication tokens, and private session records are not displayed on public profiles. Your chosen handle, display name, biography, optional location and website, and content you publish to projects, clubs, or guide shelves are public by design.
There is currently no private-post setting. Public information may be indexed by search engines, linked by other people, or copied outside HobbyDomain. Do not publish personal information you want to keep private.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Create, verify, secure, and recover member accounts.
- Display public maker profiles and attributed community records.
- Save projects, clubs, and maker-selected guide references.
- Send transactional verification and password-reset email.
- Prevent abuse, enforce request limits, troubleshoot failures, and protect the service.
- Comply with applicable law and protect users, the public, and the service.
4. Service providers and outside services
We use a small set of providers to operate HobbyDomain:
- Cloudflare delivers and protects the site and processes network traffic.
- Neon / Databricks hosts the database used for accounts and community records.
- Resend receives the destination email address and message content needed to deliver account verification and password-reset messages.
Maker-selected videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed domain. Loading or playing an embedded video still connects your browser to Google/YouTube, which handles that interaction under Google's privacy policy .
eBay links, YouTube watch links, and member-supplied websites take you to services we do not control. HobbyDomain does not receive eBay payment, shipping, or dispute information. Those services apply their own policies after you visit them.
We may also disclose information when legally required, to investigate abuse or protect rights and safety, with your direction, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of the service.
6. Retention and your choices
Email-verification and password-reset links expire after one hour. Other account, public-content, and security records are kept while needed to provide and protect the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain reasonable backups.
You can edit available public profile fields in profile settings, sign out, and reset your password. To request access, correction, account closure, or deletion, email members@hobbydomain.com. We may need to verify that the request belongs to you. Some records may be retained where law, security, fraud prevention, backups, or the rights of other users require it.
Depending on where you live, privacy law may provide additional rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information, or to appeal a request decision.
7. Children, security, international processing, and changes
HobbyDomain is not directed to children under 13, and they may not create accounts. If local law requires parental or guardian consent for an older minor, that consent is required before using member features. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information improperly.
We use safeguards designed to protect information, but no online service can guarantee perfect security. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.
We may update this policy as the service changes. The revision date will change, and material changes may also be announced on the site or by account email where appropriate.
