POLICY REGISTER · TERMS / REV 01

Terms for a useful workshop.

These terms set the ground rules for accounts, public build records, community participation, outside links, and the practical risks that come with making things.

Effective and last updated

Agreement and scope

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and HobbyDomain, the operator of hobbydomain.com. By accessing the service, creating an account, or publishing content, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must review and consent to these Terms and supervise your use where required by law.

Provide accurate account information, keep your password and verification links secure, and notify us if you believe your account was compromised. You are responsible for activity through your account unless caused by HobbyDomain's failure to use reasonable safeguards.

One person may use the service across many hobby domains, but may not impersonate another person, misrepresent an affiliation, or evade an account restriction.

2. Public profiles and contributions

Profiles, project records, club descriptions, guide notes, and other contributions are public unless the interface expressly says otherwise. Do not include confidential information, personal contact details, or someone else's private information in public content.

You keep ownership

You retain your rights in content you submit. You represent that you own it or have the permission needed to publish it.

Permission to operate the service

You grant HobbyDomain a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, display, and distribute your content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, improve, and present the service. This permission ends when the content is deleted from active systems, subject to reasonable backups, legal duties, and copies made by other people while it was public.

You may link to outside resources only when you have the right to do so. Linking or embedding does not transfer ownership of the outside material to you or HobbyDomain.

3. Acceptable use

Do not use HobbyDomain to:

  • Break the law, infringe intellectual-property rights, or violate another person's privacy.
  • Harass, threaten, exploit, or target people with hateful or abusive conduct.
  • Publish deceptive claims, impersonate others, manipulate community records, or send spam.
  • Distribute malware, scrape private areas, bypass access controls or rate limits, or disrupt the service.
  • Post content intended to facilitate illegal activity or imminent physical harm.
  • Use automated access in a way that unreasonably burdens the service or ignores published technical controls.

4. Maker safety and community information

Projects can involve electricity, tools, vehicles, chemicals, fire, water, living animals, structural loads, and other serious hazards. Community records are not professional engineering, medical, legal, environmental, or safety advice.

You are responsible for evaluating instructions, using appropriate protective equipment, following laws and manufacturer guidance, and seeking a qualified professional when a project exceeds your skills or presents meaningful risk. Stop work when conditions are unsafe.

Product observations and owner verdicts reflect particular projects and may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong for your situation. Verify compatibility, recalls, specifications, and safe use independently.

5. Third-party services and transactions

HobbyDomain may link to eBay, YouTube, member websites, and other services. Those services have separate terms and privacy practices, and HobbyDomain does not control their content or availability.

HobbyDomain's eBay pages are project-informed search guides. HobbyDomain is not the seller, does not guarantee listings or prices, does not process payment, and does not handle shipping, returns, warranties, or disputes. Any transaction occurs directly under eBay's and the seller's terms.

YouTube videos are selected as outside references. Their creators, accuracy, continued availability, and rights remain independent of HobbyDomain.

6. Moderation, suspension, and availability

We may review, restrict, remove, or preserve content, and may limit or suspend accounts, when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect people or the service, respond to legal process, or investigate abuse. We are not obligated to pre-screen every contribution.

You may stop using HobbyDomain at any time. To request account closure, email members@hobbydomain.com. We may change, pause, or discontinue features, and cannot promise that every feature or public record will always remain available.

HobbyDomain's name, mark, interface, and original site materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. The brand system provides downloadable assets but does not grant permission to misrepresent sponsorship or operate a confusingly similar service.

7. Disclaimers and limits of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HobbyDomain is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, safety, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, or error-free content.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HobbyDomain and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits or data, project damage, personal injury, third-party transactions, or reliance on community content arising from use of the service. Rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.

If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply. A failure to enforce a term once is not a waiver. These Terms do not create employment, agency, partnership, or joint-venture relationships.

Changes and contact

We may update these Terms as the service changes. The revision date will change, and material updates may be announced on the site or by account email. Continuing to use the service after revised Terms take effect means you accept them; if you do not, stop using the service.
